GPT’s number one goal is to help you along your Fitness journey to become healthier and more active. Below are a few answers to some commonly asked questions. If you have a different question, or would like to ask something more specific, please feel free to reach out and we will respond ASAP.
Do I need my own equipment?
Our personal trainers will create an individualized program based on your needs and personal goals. We will bring specialized equipment to each session, if needed. Depending on your program, we may suggest obtaining a few small pieces to keep at your home/location. We can easily devise a program that requires little to no equipment so don’t fret if you currently don’t own a private gym with all the bells and whistles.
Why should I hire an In-Home Personal Trainer instead of getting a gym membership?
Convenience! Why take the time out of your busy day traveling to the gym? Your GPT trainer will show up at your door at the specified appointment time and give you a great workout without having to leave your home/office.
Accountability. You are more likely to keep an appointment, with yourself and your trainer, if you don’t have to leave your home. Your trainer will keep you on track through regular check-ins, appointments and help to provide structure to your workout program.
Creativity. In-Home personal trainers need to be much more creative and fun when designing programs versus their “in gym” counterparts. You may even get to use some furniture in your home that you didn’t know could act as gym equipment!
What areas does GPT service?
Currently we travel to Montgomery and Delaware counties, Lower Bucks County and Philadelphia. We also offer virtual and on-line personal training packages.
How often should I workout with my GPT trainer?
The recommended amount of exercise for adults in the U.S. is 150 minutes per week with 2-3 days of strengthening exercises. Most GPT clients work with us 2-4 days per week. We will provide cardio plans for the other days of the week so you know exactly what you should be doing when you’re not with your trainer.
How much do you charge for the first session?
The first visit, or initial consultation, is free of charge. During this visit we will perform various testing to determine your current fitness level as well as discuss your goals and health history.
Some of the tests include bodyfat testing, musculoskeletal testing, flexibility tests and a health history screening.
My friends may be interested as well, do you offer group packages?
Yes, the more the merrier! We offer group packages up to 4 people per session. We limit the number of participants so each person still gets the most out of each session and gets individual time spent with your trainer.
Do I need clearance from my doctor?
As always, you should check with your Physician before beginning this, or any other exercise program. There are some situations where we would need a medical clearance from an individual’s physician. For the average person, however, this is not the case and we would not need documentation.
